ok. so fatmug has made some changes to the quarry trail network over the last couple of years. some folks seem to embrace these changes, approve of and appreciate what we're doing. others don't. one area in particular that has become rather contentious is the roller coaster section of dishwasher trail. the original trail was fun, no doubt about that. but it also had a wretchedly eroding exit onto fall quarry run trail. there was no way to change that intersection to reduce the erosion problem so we re-routed it. yeah, i miss the old trail, but the new one provides some extra mileage. and yeah, the old one just went downhill and the new one has a killer climb to get back out. but i still think it's fun and now it's got more challenges.
so anyway, somebody repeatedly undoes our re-route to open up the old eroded section. we tried posting a sign indicating why we had re-routed and asking the person who doesn't like it to contact us so we can discuss it with them. the sign is gone, the eroded section is open again and we still haven't heard from the person that doesn't like it.
i don't know if this person ever visits this forum or not but if so and if you are that person then please talk to us. e-mail, post on the forum, call me, send smoke signals, something. whatever the case just talk to us. we'd so much rather communicate and cooperate with the trail using community than fight it.
thanks,
steve

Till up the old tread so that it's no longer comfortable to use. That also makes it easier for seeds to grow. Plant saplings, trees, plant dead trees. Try not to make the old trail look like someone just threw a bunch of crap on it, rather the reclaimed trail should look like it was never there in the first place. Finally, when you do throw stuff on it, make it larger rocks and logs that it takes 3 or 4 people to move.
