I feel absolutely sick to my stomach after reading this post. I SAW THIS GUY ON THIS BIKE ON LOWES ON SUNDAY EVENING!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I ran by the Lowes on Sunday evening to grab something around 6:45pm. As I was getting into my car, I caught sight of the bike out of the corner of my eye. The first thought in my mind was "why would someone ride that Lowes?" He was talking to a few Lowes employees outside, then he got on the bike (carrying a Lowes bag) and started pedeling towards the exit on Allen St. I watched him, we made eye contact and I just had one of those bad feelings. Like he didn't belong on it. I pulled up right behind him at the stop sign. We both made a left, then stopped at the light on Broad and Allen. Now he was on my right side. Then he started talking to a couple of drunk arse vagrents sitting on the side walk as if they all knew each other. He was looking down at the bike as if it was the subject of their conversation. The light turned and I went home.
The description and clothing noted below is accurate, only he also had on black gloves also. They almost looked like riding gloves, but probably more like work gloves. He also had a bike lock wrapped around the seat post. I would go and ask around the people who hang out at the gas station there on the corner if they know who this scum bag is. Flash a $20 and you'd probably get a name. I would keep my eye on ebay, Craiglsit all over the mid-atlantic, and all pawn shops from F'burg to P'burg.
Man this sucks, I'm sorry this happened to you.
EDIT..........................................................................
.....
DUDE, CHECK THIS OUT! Copy and Pasted from Craigslist tonight. If this isn't the bike in question, I'll eat a tube.

Ok, now it appears I need to address some uncertainty raised by bikewright's post. It's a little perplexing to me as the tone of the post seems to be insinuating I am making up some of the information on the suspect. Let me address your doubts and clarify:
Josh,
My post was not to be insinuating that you where making up some of the information on the suspect. I work Crime intel and most information on a suspect does not come that detail. I just wanted to know how the information was linked together to better understand the events. So with that I say job well done, most people would not be able to get that much information together. As you can tell by Craigslist more people are posting that their bike was stolen. With more people in the area buying and riding bikes to the store or to do some shopping this event is going to be more common.
I just saw the new post on Craigslist tonight about stolen bike recovered. I hope that is your bike! I also hope the suspect apprehended.

any news?
this found bike doesn't seem to line up time wise with later reports of seeing the theif on the bike.
I wrote down all the info and keep it handy in case I run across this scum bag.

Just responded to the CL poster this morning, but I don't anticipate he has my bike. I think if he did he would be reaching out to me with all the information I've posted up...my fingers are crossed though. Will certainly keep you guys updated as I hear more.
