Freedom Park Trees Down

Went out and rode the A, B and C trails today. A & B are relatively clear following last night's major storm front that went through. Lots of small debris down but they are ride-able.

C is another story. Lots of debris and branches down. I removed a couple of the smaller trees blocking the trail. There is the top half of an 80' loblolly pine blocking the trail (about 100 meters from a small drop into a ravine and maybe a mile from the trail head). It's huge....too much for my small saw so I didn't even try to move it. Needs a chain saw and a couple of people to clear it out. There's no ride-around for it.

Didn't ride the D or E trails so don't know what those are like.

New advanced structure.....any ideas?

Can we recon C loop for a spot to build a more challenging gap jump? I got a couple ideas I'd like to share. I'd be cool if we had something that would allow one to get some air. Also, I was watching "Focused" on HDTheatre, and they had a mtb episode where these guys went to Morocco. They showed a hip transfer...........that would be way badass if we built one somewhere on C.

I've also got some ideas for building a transfer from the top of the mod A-frame. Like I mentioned to Mar, a rider could have the option to 1) ride over the mod, or 2) bail off the top, onto the transition, and gain some speed and hit a sweet gap jump.

And I'm curious if anyone else has some ideas for something new and challenging.
