Apparently these rims aren't welded, and just have a joiner peg holding the damn thing together. That's what I get for going cheap

I have been riding the trails the last year and never thought much about what it takes to make new trails or to maintain the existing trails. However, they will be looking for a place to run drainage pipes and ditches, and/or build berms or other erosion control measures.
Phase one which includes a couple fields is supposed to be completed by Spring of next year. I imagine in the near future we will start seeing stakes and survey tape sprouting up everywhere.

Lastly, let's keep an eye out on what is going to happen to all those crib dam logs piled up near the gate. The person(s) who are in charge of getting rid of it may now need to do so fast and cheap/free. We may be in a good position to ask the city to use some for Scout Trail or elsewhere. (They may think those historic planks may be a good idea so close to the river they were plucked out from too--perhaps another angle to pitch).

We plan to meet at 8am, see how many volunteers we have, and then split the work up accordingly. We'll be working in the area of the most recent re-route (Fall Quarry Run trail near the tunnel) where some bench cutting needs to be done to make that trail sustainable. The scout trail is also in need of some pruning and puddle draining attention.

If you can't make it at 8 then think about coming by a little later. If you can't work for very long, stop by for as long as you can. Any help is appreciated!

The meeting spot will be the ball field parking lot at the intersection of Fall Hill Ave and Wicklow Drive.
